I’ve been wanting to tackle this project for some time, Botticelli‘s iconic piece has been a source of inspiration & revered by many , so I am beyond thrilled at how this piece came together
This thicc queen is bringing all the magical vibes to the swamp , she needed to be celebrated. I changed the composition to a vertical position, so I could make this goddess the main focal point of the piece vs the orientation of the original reference.
I opted for the whimsical frogs to take the place of the wind gods and lily flowers for the petals to be blown at her to match the swampy aesthetic. I love how they gaze upon her in awe
The choice of the snapping turtle’s placement & guest appearance in the piece are absolutely questionable lol, I completely agree , however he brings both comedic energy & that of a protector helping save her modesty below…and who’s gonna question an snapping turtle?!?
