“Celestial owl” 29”x39” framed original art

Happy to share this original piece of artwork is finally completed & framed 🦉✨🪐I’ve been wanting to paint an owl for some time now, but not just some normal owl…I present to you, my “Celestial owl”, a mystical creature that looks over the cosmos and the creatures that exist within it. This is probably the most normal thing I’ve painted in a long time, despite it being an owl with antlers & a crown… this time around I went for no puns, no dad jokes, just something beautiful and interesting.

Barn owls are such stunning animals, so that was my inspiration for the owl, however I wanted to take that silhouette/aesthetic & change the expected color palette to give the otherworldly look as well as the addition of the antlers. The spots that naturally appear on the patterns in their wings mesh nicely against the stars in the background helping sell the idea of this owl of the cosmos. There are little planets in the gems in her chains in the antlers, which symbolizes her connection to the universe

I have been holding on to this frame waiting to repurpose it for just the right piece , & this owl is exactly what it needed to compliment it…This original painting is done in acrylics on wood & varnished , and is approximately 19”x19” , however in the frame it’s a little over 3ft tall and over 2 ft wide (39” tall by 29” wide). The frame was originally for a mirror, and has been painted black & drybrushed with a purple pearl paint for a unique look that sparkles while still allowing the owl to be the star of the show. (Approximately 15-20 lbs, so be sure to use a stud or appropriate rated wall anchor for safety when hanging)
